I can’t recommend Flow Fluently enough. I started my first class intimidated by dance and frustrated. I didn’t understand what I should be doing and felt silly dancing at weddings and parties. I’ve had five classes with Michael, and my perspective has changed.
We started with the very basics, and I’m now dancing without thinking, I understand how to work with partners of different skill levels (surprisingly important even for beginners), and I’ve been shown plenty of steps that I can use no matter what music is playing.
If you’re like me and you’ve avoided dance because you don’t understand it and you don’t feel comfortable on the dance floor, Flow will help you.

Learning the steps to salsa or bachata, and memorizing some steps, is fun but not that meaningful, and Flow has been the total opposite. We’re learning how to express who we are individually and as a couple through our bodies with whatever music we hear at any place, at any time. It’s been so vulnerable but also so liberating. Michael is a great dance teacher. He puts me at ease. His teaching style is non-judgmental. I learn to dance through practice, exploration, and overcoming the fear of incompetence. I get to explore my own style, learn to follow (and lead), and feel the connection with the dance floor, music, and dance partner. It's a work in progress, but it's so worth it!
Along this path, I put together my own playlist and learned to dance to the beat and feel the music. Michael is your friendly and gentle guide. Another obvious benefit is losing weight in all the right places (especially around the abdomen and hip area). The body becomes more defined & toned.
